Rice Krispie Treat pumpkins
Happy HALLOWEEN from US!
Here is a totally cute HALLOWEEN treat
recipe from us to you, enjoy!
This recipe is for Rice Krispie Treat
pumpkins!
What you need:
- Rice Krispies
- Red/yellow food coloring to make orange
- Butter
- Vanilla extract
- White marshmellows
I just followed the traditional Recipe to
make the rice krispie treats, nothing fancy.
Add ½ tsp. vanilla extract and 5 cups marshmellows
Stir until the marshmellows are completely melted.
Add food coloring until you’ve made your desired orange.
Stir in 6 cups of Rice Krispies
Let it cool, and when it has cooled down enough spray some Pam
on your hands and make some pumpkin shapes out of your batch.
Now just do it to the whole batch ( you can
make big or little pumkins)
For decoration you can use anything. You can use M&M’s for eyes, candy corn or
whatever you desire. This would be a
REALLY fun Halloween treat for kids to help you make while they wait for
nighttime to arrive.
I, however, melted some Hershey chocolate
to decorate top part, and some knock-off Nutella to put eyes and a mouth.
Be so careful when
melting the chocolate. I put mine in a
pan over the stove and let heat for maybe 3 minutes over med. heat. Chocolate melts fast, and can burn even
faster.
Then you decorate! Put on faces!
And there you go! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

RAJAS CON QUESO / RAJAS WITH CHEESE
Hi everyone! Recipe Day is here and in honor of a
friend who recommended our Blog for Mexican recipes I decided to do something
typically Mexican today. Of course it’s simple and delicious as well. Hope you like it!
INGREDIENTS:
6 poblano chiles
½ sliced onion (I love purple onion
but you can use any kind)
1 ½ cups grated or shredded cheese (I
used string cheese)
1 large potato
1 cup sour cream
Salt & pepper
1 tsp vegetable/olive oil
INSTRUCTIONS:
Like our chile relleno recipe, roast
the chiles on the stovetop, peel and devein.
Cut chiles in thin, medium-sized
slices (rajas).
Heat the oil in pan, dice the potato
and fry for a few minutes, add salt and pepper.
Add
onions and cook until tender
Add the rajas to the mix.
Add
the sour cream and mix everything together; add some salt & pepper in there
too
Add a top layer of cheese, cover pan,
and allow mix to boil and cheese to melt.
Et voilá! Serve with rice and/or
tortillas to eat in tacos J
Bon Apetit everyone!
With lots of love & truly yours,
Samantha

SMILE LIKE YOU MEAN IT
It’s a new week and like every Monday, at Home, Hair
& Heels we like to cheer you up and make you forget those Monday blues.
Remember my last inspiration post? Probably not, so
let me remind you that one of the things I mentioned was to smile. Recently, I
read some pretty interesting facts about smiling, so I decided to share them
with you as a reminder of all the positive effects a simple movement of the
muscles in our face can have:
It boosts your immune system: Your body is more relaxed when you smile, which contributes to good health and a stronger immune system.
Smiles are contagious: In a study conducted in Sweden, people had difficulty frowning when they looked at other subjects who were smiling, and their muscles twitched into smiles all on their own.
Smiles relieve stress
It’s easier to smile than to frown: Scientists have discovered that your body has to work harder and use more muscles to frown than it does to smile.
It’s a universal sign of happiness
We still smile at work: 30% of subjects in a research study smiled five to 20 times a day, and 28% smiled over 20 times per day at the office.
Smiles use from 5 to 53 facial muscles
Babies are born with the ability to smile: scientists believe that all babies are born with the ability, since even blind babies smile.
Smiles are the most easily recognizable facial expression
Smiles are more attractive than makeup: A research study conducted by Orbit Complete discovered that 69% of people find women more attractive when they smile than when they are wearing makeup.
Babies start smiling as newborns: babies start smiling in their sleep as soon as they’re born.
Also, on a side note, if you have dimples, you NEED to
smile, no questions asked. I’m particularly partial to single-dimpled crooked
smiles, so if you have one of those, work it! You don’t know who may fall for
you…
There you have it.
Need I say more? Not only is it healthy, helpful and attractive but we
all have so many reasons to smile every single day!
With lots of love and yours truly,
Sam

DO SOMETHING WITH YOUR OLD SWEATER
This DIY is a personal FAV:
It’s called DSWTOS (Do something with that
old sweater)
Turn that old sweater into one of those
adorable decorative sweaters that swarm your Pinterest home page. (or at least
they do mine!)
This DIY takes:
- Beads
- Thread/needle
- Sweater
So, here is my old sweater:
First, take your bead, and thread it into
your desired place. I did mine like
polkadot style.
You can either mark where you want to place
your beads, or eye-ball it, like I did.
Just do your simple- learned in YW sewing.
Thread your needle, tie a knot, thread your bead, tie a knot again.
And repeat, and
repeat.
Keep sewing them on in the same pattern,
the same lengths apart.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnddd keep going haha
Put a polo or a button up underneath to
spice it up. And there you go!! A
perfect fall sweater that is much more eye appealing!
From your one&only,
Rozslin
