So welcome to
Hair Home & Heels!
For our first post ever we decided Inspiration
was definitely needed, to inspire ourselves and to inspire our followers and
fellow bloggers out there. Also, it’s Monday, and who could resist a little
inspiration at the beginning of a long week, right?
As a result,
here is our first, very own, Monspiration.
Simple, yet so
true: Inspiration is all around us. I find myself looking for inspiration every
day in the small things I hear, see and do. Most of all, I have realized that
my biggest inspiration comes from people around me. Sometimes it’s my family,
sometimes it can be a stranger on the street.
Lately, I’ve
felt inspired by words. I’ve always been a big fan of literature and the
amazing things that can be accomplished through the spoken and written word, it
seems to me that words have so much power over us that sometimes they can make
or break us, when said at the right time and place and of course, by the right
people.
Right at this
moment in my life, while I find myself in this awkward place that leads to full
adulthood, some specific words seem to hold so many answers. And by awkward I
mean happy, confusing, fun, exhilarating, overwhelming, new, challenging and
most of all transcending. If at least
some of you know what I’m talking about then I’m probably not that crazy.
An easy answer
to all the confusion that comes with the transition from whatever you were
before to being an adult is the following:
Whether the
reasons are clear to me or not, I know this to be true. I AM EXACTLY WHERE I AM
SUPPOSED TO BE. So many things have happened over time to lead me to this exact
place in my life, physically, emotionally, academically, etc. And so it is for
everyone else. Life truly does have a purpose, and we have a purpose in life.
Finally, I would
like to share the most recent three words that inspired me to look for the
things in my life that bring me true happiness. My grandpa, who is the most
amazing and wise man I have ever met shared them with me last night. I had
heard these words before, as I’m sure you have too because they are spoken
often. But if you could just take a minute to appreciate the full extent of
what they mean, the potential they hold for us in our lives if we do as they
say, they might make us change the way we see and do things in our day to day.
It might seem a
cliché, but spoken at the right moment, it truly does make all the sense in the
world. After all, if it worked for my 84 year old Grandpa, I trust it will work
for me, and for anyone who understands that following your heart isn’t always
the easiest option, but one that takes courage and definitely the one that
holds the best rewards and the only choice that will bring us happiness.
“Let yourself be
drawn by the strange pull of what you love,
It
will not lead you astray.

That’s it for tonight! I hope you enjoyed
and I hope I was able to pass on a little of Monspiration from the Cherry
Blossom Girls. We all find inspiration in different places and faces, so if you
feel like it, please share with us the things that inspire you. We would love
to hear about it.
With lots of love & Yours Truly,
Samantha
